America Going Bankrupt State by State

by Jeff Davis

The next stage of the Obama Depression is beginning now–the financial collapse of individual states. USA Today reports: “Residents eager to get their state tax refunds may have a long wait this year: The recession has tied up cash and caused officials in half a dozen states to consider freezing refunds, in one case for as long as five months. States from New York to Hawaii that have been hard-hit by the economic downturn say they have either delayed refunds or are considering doing so because of budget shortfalls. New York, hit with a $9 billion deficit, may delay $500 million in refunds to keep the state from running out of cash, says Gov. David Paterson. Hawaii’s Department of Taxation says some residents may not see state income tax refunds until the end of August… Officials in the following states say they have had to delay issuing refunds or consider doing so because the state might not have the cash on hand to cover the checks: Hawaii, Alabama, North Carolina, Kansas, Idaho, New York.” (more…)

The Red Queen of the Seas

by Ian Mosley

We’ve all heard of “Alice in Wonderland” with the Mad Hatter and the tyrannical Red Queen. Well, what if you joined the US Navy and found the Red Queen in charge of your ship?

Time Magazine reports “Women are so common in the upper ranks of the U.S. military these days that it’s no longer news when they break through another barrier. Unfortunately, the latest benchmark isn’t one to brag about: being booted as captain of a billion-dollar warship for cruelty and maltreatment of her 400-member crew. According to the Navy inspector general’s report that triggered her removal — and the accounts of officers who served with her — Captain Holly Graf was the closest thing the U.S. Navy had to a female Captain Bligh. A Navy admiral stripped Graf of her command of the Japan-based guided missile cruiser U.S.S. Cowpens in January. The just-released IG report concludes that Graf repeatedly verbally abused her crew and committed assault, and accuses her of using her position as commander of the Cowpens for personal gain.”

The modern Navy is made up mostly of highly trained specialists, who train for months on operating advanced missile systems and other high tech gear. These aren’t drunks who were pressed into service at a pub. Apparently this Red Queen of the Seas could not tell the difference. (more…)

Ex-Child Actor, Corey Haim Dead at 38

by Jeff Davis

There is a point to be made and a lesson to be learned from Corey Haim’s abrupt departure from this world. Haim doubtless made more money from his short sitcom career than most of us would make in a lifetime. Often the talent agent and parents steal a good portion of the child actor’s earnings. Still, Haim likely had hundreds of thousands, if not millions, which he could have lived off of assuming he didn’t squander all his money on drugs.

One source notes “In a 2004 interview published in The Sun, Haim said, ‘I started on the downers which were a hell of a lot better than the uppers because I was a nervous wreck. But one led to two, two led to four, four led to eight, until at the end it was about 85 a day — the doctors could not believe I was taking that much. And that was just the Valium — I’m not talking about the other pills I went through…’ ”

Why can’t these individuals go back to school and become artists, history majors or philanthropists? Why do they always hang out with bad crowds and do drugs until they’re broke or dead? The biggest mistake most make is wasting their lives trying to get an adult career going. If the movie roles aren’t coming in when they hit 18, they should give up and find other things to do, far from drugs, flakes and the Hollywood club scene.

TMZ reports: “Corey Haim collapsed in the bedroom of his mother’s apartment and four prescription bottles were found nearby … We’ve learned Corey had been sick the last couple of days with flu-like symptoms. The medications recovered, however, were not related to his illness… ‘We’re told no illicit drugs were found in the apartment.’ A witness at the apartment complex where Corey Haim collapsed tells TMZ that paramedics — who arrived shortly after 1:00 AM — spent 20 minutes inside the apartment before carrying him out on a stretcher with an oxygen mask over his face …. suggesting Corey was still alive when he went to the hospital. Corey was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital over an hour later.” (more…)

Fly the Deadly Skies

by Ian Mosley

The combination of a craze for multiculturalism and diversity with capitalism’s insatiable lust for cheap labor is a deadly one. Now they’re playing PC games with airline safety –again.

Channel 8 News in Dallas reports: “News 8 has recently revealed serious flaws in the way the FAA licenses mechanics who fix planes. There is evidence of years of problems in testing these mechanics. There is also evidence that hundreds of mechanics with questionable licenses are working on aircraft in Texas… Now there is evidence of repair facilities hiring low-wage mechanics who can’t read English… Twenty-one people were killed when U.S. Airways Express Flight 5481 crashed in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2003. The plane went wildly out of control on takeoff. One reason for the crash, investigators found, was that mechanics incorrectly connected the cables to some of the plane’s control surfaces in the repair shop. The FAA was cited for improper oversight of the repair process.”

Always try to keep in mind that Political Correctness kills. Less qualified quota-hire doctors, paramedics and firemen really do cause deaths. You can’t keep discriminating against better-qualified White people for decade after decade without causing serious long-term damage to American corporations, just ask GM and Chrysler. Now we learn that some airplane mechanics working in Texas can’t read English. In this case, some corporations have put cheapness ahead of public safety. (more…)

Post Office Cuts Staff Despite Promises to Create Jobs

mailbox

Some people may have noticed that mailboxes, which had been in their neighborhoods literally for decades have recently disappeared. Well, it turns out that any mailbox that gets less than 25 pieces of mail per week is in danger of being uprooted.

It’s true people under age 70 overwhelmingly use e-mail for everything, and that people are likely paying their bills online or by some automatic deductions. This means a big drop in mail, but it seems silly to take away mailboxes. Why not just collect mail from them less often? This move seems to be a largely symbolic act by the Feds. Our government isn’t able to repaint a white line on a road without spending thousand of dollars. I would not be surprised one bit if it cost thousands of dollars in labor and bureaucracy to remove each mailbox.

A Reuters article reports “The U.S. Postal Service said on Friday it is closing six of its 80 district offices. In addition, administrative staff positions at district level nationwide are being reduced by 15 percent and nearly 150,000 employees nationwide being given opportunity to take an early retirement. More than 1,400 mail processing supervisor and management positions are also being eliminated.”

Early retirement usually means significantly less pension in most jobs. It also means 150,000 less postal workers, so the long lines at the post office will get even worse.

But far more interesting are the political and financial implications of this little article. At a time when Obama and his Jewish handlers are running the presses creating more and more paper money (along with rampant inflation) and borrowing up to their fetlocks from the Communist Chinese, of all people, and at a time when they are hurling billions of dollars at a time at every bank and every Democrat pork project under the sun, actual human beings are being kicked off the federal payroll. Austrians Actually Get a Choice for President

by James Buchanan

Here in America, the two-party system usually weeds out anyone, who is even the tiniest bit objectionable to the wire-pullers in charge. Idealistic men like Pat Buchanan or Ron Paul are invariably kicked aside in the primary system. Often the primaries are blatantly stolen, but nothing is ever done to expose and punish the vote thieves.

It therefore may come as a shock to Americans that White people in Austria are being allowed to vote for someone who wants to stop the Third World invasion of Austria and who has a long track record of patriotism and the support for free speech (which most Europeans don't have). That person is Barbara Rosenkranz, an outspoken patriot, who has had to fight an oppressive government and who even had her pastor giving her grief for her belief in freedom and keeping Austria for the Austrians. 0.064 || Powered by WhiteCivilRights
